SENIOR THESIS COLLECTION

(in progress)

Combining my passion for East Asian traditional clothing, playful apparel, and intimate narratives, my thesis collection is inspired by post-memory. Post memory refers to when experiences from the first generation are passed down so strongly that later generations adopt them as memories of their own, "mediated not by recall but by imaginative investment, projection, and creation" (Hirsch)

The pieces explore textile manipulation, referencing East Asian costume, and incongruous layering to express ideas of distant fondness, meticulous tenderness, and playful nostalgia.
